Chimpanzees
Chimpanzees, Chimps in short, are apes very closely related to humans (Hominidae family to be precise). They do many things very similar to what humans do:
- Chimpanzees fight between each others for reasons other than just getting mates; humans have been at war since recorded history started and most certainly for a long time before that too.
- One male chimpanzee usually is the only one who has the favors of all the females in a group, we have observed many female discreetly going around though; humans do that all the time.
- Chimpanzees use tools to kill other animals to eat, usually smaller monkey; humans have had tools for million of years.
- Chimpanzees use tools to open nuts and other hard shell fruits; humans have used rocks for a long time until they mastered foundry and created anvils and hammers, now we have aluminum nut crackers.
- Chimpanzees use sticks to catch and eat termites; humans don't usually eat termites, but they use all sorts of tools to catch all the different animals that they eat.
- Chimpanzees often walk upright; humans are often referenced as the only species walking upright, when in fact many animals do that all their lives like walking birds.
- Chimpanzees have been seen using sticks to groom each others, a precursor to a comb; humans built modern combs in the antiquity mainly using bones.
- Chimpanzees, among other monkeys, can do mental math; humans have been able to do so for ages, but we still need to train quite a lot even to do simple additions and substractions
- Chimpanzees will dig holes in the sand to find water; humans have been digging wells for thousands of years now
